Re-igniting The Passion For God – Ps. George Mosena
Mark 12:29-31 (MSG) — Jesus said, “The first in importance is, ‘Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’ And here is the second: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment that ranks with these.”
Passion is the force behind all great inventions. It is the creative force behind all great churches. It is the force behind all great leaders. Nothing great is achieved without great passion.
Passion is what makes people great in life. Passion makes the explorers to go where no-one has gone before. Passion is what keeps you awake at night when everyone is asleep.
Passion gives you the reason to get up everyday. It gives a spark in all you do.
God is looking for people who will serve Him with passion. If you want to touch lives, you need to be passionate. Ministry is about people, if you don’t have a passion for people, you will struggle to touch lives.
Do not serve God because of just going through the motions, if you are not doing it passionately, you might as well not do it. You have to serve God passionately!
God does not want us to serve Him halfheartedly. God wants you to love Him with all your heart, soul, and strength.
Without passion you cannot prosper or succeed in anything. You cannot allow situations in your life to dictate your passion. You got to love God passionately regardless of your situations in your life. Love God when there is no food in the fridge before, when you are unemployed, when your children are sick … just love God passionately!
The same way entrepreneurs are passionate about their businesses, you need to be passionate about the things of God. God wants you to follow Him with a bit of a spark.
Passion is not instant, you need to cultivate it! When you are feeling down, you need to push yourself to that place of passion.
When you make it in love, keep your passion for God!
Is your passion for God dwindling?
What is stealing your passion? Your job, your spouse, your children?
Take stock and RE-IGNITE your passion for God. We need to ask God to help us to get back to a place of passion.
