It’s A Setup! – Ps George Mosena
Genesis 12:1-5 (NIV) — The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” 4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. 5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.
When God sets you up, He does it for a purpose greater than what you can dream of. God is instructing you to come out of whatever it is you have been stuck in. He is asking you to come out of your comfort zone. He wants you to step away from SIN, UNBELIEF, DOUBT, FEAR, etc.
When God sets you up for a blessing, He takes responsibility for the blessing. Verse 2: “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
God wants to bless nations through you. Some of us are blocking the blessings of whole nations by refusing to step out of your comfort zone.
Romans 4:16 (NIV) — Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
The moment you step out BY FAITH, the promises of God start to manifest! Abraham did not wait for any sign to step out.
Genesis 15:1-4 (NIV) — After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” 2 But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” 4 Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” 5 He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
You need to be FULLY PERSUADED in the abilities of God to see them manifest in your life. Romans 4:21 (NIV) — being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. He believed God fully, with no doubt and he PRAISED God and GAVE GLORY to God.
